DIRK WEIGEL JOINS ATOS ORIGIN GERMANY AND CEMA AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT SALES & MARKETS

Atos Origin, an international IT services company, today announced the appointment of Dirk Weigel (49) as Vice President Sales & Markets for Germany and CEMA (Central Europe, Mediterrean Countries and Africa). He will lead all sales activities for Atos Origin in Germany and the region of Switzerland, Austria, Poland, South Africa, Turkey and Greece, taking advantage of positive synergies between Germany and CEMA.

In 2010, Atos Origin will focus on the retail, energy, health and finance markets within the region of Germany and CEMA. In addition, the international IT service provider enhances its midmarket businesses in Germany. Besides “classic offerings”, such as SAP and Mainframe, Atos Origin will turn its attention to technologies like Cloud Computing and Green IT.

Dirk Weigel started his career in 1989 at the strategy consultant CAST in Vienna. In 1995 he became a partner of Alcatel, the French supplier of telecommunications, where he was responsible for operative marketing for Austria and Eastern Europe. Hereafter he held the position as Director Commercial Development in the Alcatel headquarter in Paris and was responsible for the global sales of private communication systems. Four years later Dirk Weigel joined Siemens Business Services taking over leading positions of international Sales and Consulting before being responsible for new deals of outsourcing and eventually becoming Director of Sales in Germany. Prior to his new role at Atos Origin he was CEO at Fujitsu Services and responsible for the outsourcing business of the Fujitsu group in Germany.
