ALEGEMENE PENSIOEN GROEP OUTSOURCES MAINFRAME ACTIVITIES TO ATOS ORIGIN
Algemene Pensioen Groep (APG) and Atos Origin, a leading international IT services company, have signed an agreement to outsource APG’s mainframe activities. As a result of this agreement, APG will benefit from the economies of scale at Atos Origin and will be able to operate more cost-effectively.
One of the decisive reasons why APG decided to outsource its mainframe activities to Atos Origin is its flexible ‘pay as you go’ concept. With this, IT services are provided ‘on demand’ while IT applications migrate from mainframe to other platforms. Its scale means that Atos Origin is able to offer continuity at decreasing unit prices, even if volumes should drop. As far as the provision of mainframe services is concerned, the IT service-provider has a long track record within the strictly regulated financial services market. These activities will be carried out at two of Atos Origin’s data centers so that APG can be sure that all statutory obligations will be met.
“This important agreement has strengthened our market position within the financial sector considerably. It also confirms that we are the leading supplier of mainframe services and proves our ability to offer these services within very strictly regulated sectors”, said Rob Pols, CEO of Atos Origin in The Netherlands.
