ATOS ORIGIN AND MLP EXTEND THEIR PROCESSING CONTRACT
Successful business partnership based on proven expertise in card processing
Atos Worldline, which brings together Atos Origin's core expertise in hi-tech transactional services and MLP, the German finance and property consultant announce the extension of their card processing contract for the further three years until 2013. Atos Worldline is in charge of processing the whole MLP’s MasterCard portfolio, including standard, gold and platinum versions. In addition to the extension of this 10-year successful business relationship, Atos Worldline will also accompany MLP on the “3D-Secure” protocol process.
The service agreement covers technical card processing, cardholder service and claims processing. To date, Atos Worldline has processed 140,000 cards for MLP, including platinum cards, which offer a comprehensive insurance for replacement vehicles and rental cars, repatriation costs and baggage insurance, as well as a wide range of flexible partial payment solutions such as “Priority Pass”. Thanks to these cards, travellers are guaranteed access to over 600 VIP Lounges in more than 100 countries and 300 cities, regardless of the airline or flight class. Both MasterCard Platinum and the “Priority Pass” will be managed as independent and distinguishable products in Atos Worldline’s card management system.
To minimise the risk of fraud related to Internet purchases for the entire MLP card portfolio, both companies are planning to implement the “3D-Secure" security protocol. The transfer involves a solution developed by Atos Worldline, which can be used independently of other security solutions.
The “3D-Secure” authentication process backed by MasterCard and Visa ensures that, during Internet purchases, the lawful cardholder and the lawful online handler are involved in the payment process.
“We provide exacting card products for exacting customers. We have found an experienced processing partner in Atos Worldline that offers us optimal solutions and gives our customers support in times where conditions are becoming increasingly difficult," said CarstenSoßna, Business Unit Manager at MLP.
“MLP’s card products are among the best selling on the German market. We will be supporting this successful trend through a qualified and reliable service”, said Thomas Maaß, Director Business Unit Banking & Finance Central Europe at Atos Worldline.
