ATOS ORIGIN PUBLISHES ITS 2008 CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY REPORT IN SPAIN

The report follows the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines

Atos Origin, a leading international information technology services company, has published its second Corporate Responsibility Report in Spain, which reflects the company’s efforts to consolidate the sustainability integration process in all of its Spanish activities. This report has been produced in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative requirements and was granted Application Level C.  

The report provides detailed information on the main Corporate Responsibility initiatives that have been conducted in Spain in 2008. In line with the Group’s Corporate responsibility policy, this report reflects the values driving the company’s conduct and highlights Atos Origin’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility. It establishes the criteria for good practices and excellence in providing the service that the company offers, based on the principles of Quality, Responsibility and Trust.

Using information systems to help keep people safe
Atos Origin participates and coordinates various health projects, such as Loccandia, a project for the early detection of pancreatic cancer; Daphnet, the combined analysis of different medical symptoms in diagnosis and clinical practice; and Sensation-all, a project for monitoring the state of health of elderly people who live alone.

Facilitating access to learning through leading-edge technology and innovative solutions
In the field of education, Atos Origin has implemented SUMA, a project which carries out innovation analysis on e-learning services with the aim of acquiring detailed information about the state of the art, and FLEXO, which designs and implements a generic learning model which can be adapted and accessed in open source management systems.

Contributing to security reinforcement
Meanwhile, in the area of security, the company is participating in the European consortium Odyssey, which is developing a European intercommunication system for computer systems which support criminal investigation in various countries, and in Limes, which looks at the development of information services via satellite in order to manage security in Europe.
